Who i am

About Yen

Yen Bailey is a lifelong daughter of North Florida. Her parents, Vietnamese refugees who rebuilt their lives from nothing, taught her that the American Dream is built on courage, sacrifice, and service to others. Her father, a South Vietnamese Air Force pilot, flew his crew and dozens of refugees to safety as Saigon fell. Her mother escaped on a fishing boat under fire. They arrived in America with almost nothing, and made their way to Destin, Florida, where Yen and her brother were born and raised. Their belief in this country and their determination to give their children a better life shaped every part of Yen’s upbringing. From them, she learned that service to community isn’t optional. It’s the heart of what it means to be an American

Good Jobs, Here at Home

  • Bring new industries to North Florida including clean energy, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, and tech.
  • Invest in infrastructure by building and modernizing interstates to create jobs now, make our region more accessible for tourism, and pave the way for long-term growth in manufacturing and industry.
  • Train and prepare our workforce. Expand apprenticeships, vocational programs, and college-to-career pipelines so every student has a path to success.
  • Leverage our universities and trade schools . Secure federal investment in FSU, FAMU, and our state colleges, and turn research breakthroughs into good-paying local jobs.
  • Support small businesses and rural entrepreneurs. Expand federal grants and loans so local businesses can grow and hire right here.

Lower Costs for Families

  • Tackle the homeowners insurance crisis with federal reinsurance support and stronger oversight.
  • Create more affordable housing by securing federal funding, cutting unnecessary red tape, and providing oversight so that the homes built are truly affordable and accessible to the families that need them.
  • Expand rental assistance in communities where rent and home prices have skyrocketed.
  • Support first-time homebuyers with federal programs that make ownership possible.
  • Cap the cost of insulin and essential medicines.
  • Crack down on corporate price gouging to bring down everyday costs.
  • Make childcare and senior care more affordable through tax credits for childcare users and caregivers and increasing the supply of providers.
  • Cut utility bills through federal investment in home energy efficiency programs.

Service You Can Count On

  • Accessible offices throughout the district, including mobile offices.

  • Trained staff to help with Social Security, veterans benefits, Medicare, disaster relief, and more.

  • Hold regular town halls, listening sessions, and community hours.

  • Provide hands-on grant help events throughout the district.

  • No question goes unanswered and no constituent falls through the cracks.

Accountability & Transparency

  • Establish a Federal Office of Government Accountability and Transparency to make government work for people, not special interests. This office would:

    • Require federal agencies to explain where our tax dollars go in plain language so families can see how money is spent.

    • Provide resources to help people navigate government, access services, and file complaints when they aren’t being heard.

    • Empower citizens to track waste, expose corruption, and demand better results.

    • Restore trust by making government more open, responsive, and accountable to the people it serves.

Defending Our Democracy

  • End partisan gerrymandering so districts are fair by requiring independent redistricting commissions with transparent processes and providing clear, enforceable criteria for maps.

  • Expand early voting and vote-by-mail.

  • Ban stock trading by members of Congress so politicians can’t profit from insider knowledge.

  • Pass campaign finance reform and increase finance transparency so big money can’t drown out your voice.

Health Care that Works for Us

  • Expand the healthcare premium tax credit so health insurance is more affordable.

  • Eliminate the red tape that forces families to jump through hoops so that everyone who qualifies for Medicaid can get the care they need, when they need it..

  • Increase funding for mental health and addiction treatment.

  • Lower prescription drug prices by letting Medicare negotiate.

Security for Seniors & Veterans

  • Opposing any cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

  • Expanding home health services so seniors can age with dignity.

  • Fully fund and staff VA clinics to drive down the wait on critical care for our veterans.

A Fair Deal for Rural Communities

  • Expanding rural broadband for every household.

  • Ensure rural access to healthcare. Funding rural health clinics, hospitals, and mobile units.

  • Strengthening disaster recovery and ensuring relief dollars reach rural towns after hurricanes and floods.

  • Addressing teacher shortages with federal funding, better pay, and housing support for educators.

  • Fight for the soybean industry by working to repair foreign relations and reinvigorate trade which benefits hard working American Citizens, like our soybean farmers 

Protecting Land & Water

  • Fully fund Apalachicola Bay and river restoration.

  • Crack down on polluters threatening our water and forests.

  • Expand clean energy projects to cut bills and create local jobs.

  • Protect coastal communities with smarter storm and flood infrastructure.

Fixing Our Broken Immigration System

  • Create a fair, efficient process that keeps families together, strengthens our economy, and upholds the law.

  • Secure the border with smart technology, more personnel, and modern infrastructure without wasting taxpayer dollars on ineffective walls.

  • Protect Dreamers and workers who are already part of our communities, paying taxes, and helping North Florida thrive.

  • Expand legal pathways for workers in industries like agriculture, construction, and healthcare so businesses can grow without relying on an undocumented workforce.

  • Reduce backlogs and streamline legal immigration so people who follow the rules aren’t waiting decades for an answer.

  • Ensure humane treatment and timely processing for asylum seekers, so our system is fair while keeping America safe.
